Flute Lessons

Dedicated to helping students achieve their musical aspirations, I offer in-person flute lessons in Houston, Texas, and virtual lessons nationwide. With a focus on individual growth and development, I tailor each lesson to meet the unique goals of every student. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, I am committed to guiding you on your musical journey.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in a deep commitment to individualized student growth. I believe students learn most effectively when they are actively involved in the learning process, so I ask thoughtful questions to understand each student’s goals, learning style, and challenges. Drawing from research in flute pedagogy and the science of learning, I design structured, engaging lessons that help students practice efficiently, think critically, and take ownership of their progress.

Each lesson is carefully planned around musical milestones, including tone development, technical development, scale fluency, articulation, and stylistic understanding. Students regularly work toward meaningful goals while building a well-rounded musical foundation through the integration of music history and theory. I maintain high expectations because I truly believe that every one of my students is capable of reaching a high standard of musical excellence.

My lessons are high energy, supportive, and flexible, allowing space to prioritize school band music, upcoming auditions, or individual challenges. I emphasize transferable life skills such as goal setting, time management, and creative problem-solving so that students develop independence in and beyond music. Most importantly, I approach every situation with kindness and curiosity, creating an environment where students feel motivated, capable, and confident to succeed in music and beyond.
